Flower Pressing Studio Updates: Fall 2024 Bookings, New Staff, New Studio Design

Flower Pressing Studio Updates: Fall 2024 Bookings, New Staff, New Studio Design

We are in the second week of the ‘Ber months and already the fall vibes have started. Autumn is our busiest time. Fall weddings are the gold standard in the Pacific Northwest. That means lots of beautiful fall flowers, like zinnias, sunflowers, and of course, dahlias are going to be pressed!

This year we are pleased to include to our flower pressing team, Finn and Andi! These two flower pressing mavericks have spent the last few months in training. In general, it takes about a full month to bring a new presser up to speed. They are also assisting with bouquet check-ins, silica work, and the ever-dreaded paper changes. With the addition of new staff, we are able to triple our pressing process. As a result, we can easily accept any floral preservation reservation for 2024. Booking early is always recommended, however, as this allows us to discuss the best way to take care of flowers before they reach us to be pressed.

We are doing a small re-design of our main studio space, aka, our living room. We are just not ready to spread our wings and commit to renting a formal flower pressing studio. That’s coming soon! For now, we are going to utilize the beautiful space we have in our main room. We will include a sitting area for clients to review their order, view work, relax, and maybe even enjoy one of our seasonal beverages. We will also expand our flower pressing and check-in areas and building a space outside for missed flower deliveries and pick-ups.

We are hosting an apple painting workshop on October 12th from 5-7:00 p.m. You will have an opportunity to turn painted apples into pumpkins onto a towel or any fabric you might want to paint. We will have hand crafted cocktails and a warm, fall dessert. Think of this as a small supper club meets a DIY craft/cocktail hour. This workshop is a little more on the high-end side. I really enjoy baking and creating a festive and interactive environment. With that comes a little more 1:1 instruction and the specialty nom noms up the game! Registration opens next week. If you are interested, please send us a message.

If you are curious about what we can do with your flowers, I encourage you to check out our Instagram @vancuterielove. We are very active on social media. It’s a great space to see what innovative and provocative techniques we are utilizing to create your floral preservation piece.

It’s never too late to book your Fall 2024 bridal bouquet preservation. It’s also worth mentioning, if you really want to do this, but it might be exceeding your budget. Consider that this will be an heirloom that you can pass down to your children, will preserve the memories of your special day in a customized design of your wedding flowers, and is a unique keepsake. This will be one of the few wedding treasures you can keep forever.

As always, flower pressing is all I think and all we do around here at Vancuterie. The flowers are prancing around in whimsy and color! Moving from bright colors to moody textures and variegations. Everything about pressing flowers excites me.

Fall brides this is your rally cry. Book your 2024 custom flower preservation today! You will not be disappointed with this decision. Up your wedding game!

Flower pressing for the win!
