How to Preserve Your Wedding Bouquet When You Forgot to Book in Advance: Last Minute Tips & Why Wedding Bouquets Are Worth Saving

Why Preserve Your Wedding Bouquet?

Think of your bouquet as a living chapter of your story. Preserving your wedding flowers means creating a piece of heirloom art that lets you revisit the colors, textures, and emotions of your day every time you see it on your wall. Brides often tell us their framed designs are among their most cherished keepsakes, even more personal than photos, because they contain the actual flowers they held when they said “I do.”

This is why preservation is an investment, not just an afterthought. You’re not only saving flowers; you’re preserving your story.

Preserve Your Bridal Bouquet in the Thick of Wedding Season: What to Do If You Haven’t Booked in Advance

Wedding season in the Pacific Northwest is magical! Golden dahlias, airy cosmos, garden roses, and wild greenery filling the air with color and life. For many brides, flowers aren’t just decoration; they are the heart of the day. But when the vows are spoken and the music fades, bouquets wilt quickly, and brides often ask themselves: is it too late to preserve my bridal bouquet?

At Vancuterie, we believe flowers carry emotional power far beyond the day itself. They become symbols of love, commitment, and joy.  Transforming them into art ensures those memories last forever.

What If You Didn’t Book Ahead?

If you’re in the thick of wedding season and haven’t reserved your spot, don’t panic. We know many brides decide on preservation after the wedding when they feel the weight of letting their flowers go. Here’s what you can do:

    1.       Contact us immediately. We can ALWAYS accommodate last-minute bouquets, especially if you’re local to Vancouver, Washington or Portland. We also accept nationwide shipments

    2.       Cool and hydrate your flowers. Place your bouquet in fresh water in a cool space until you can deliver it.

    3.       Understand complexity. Some flowers press and reconstruct better than others, but our color correction process allows us to restore vibrancy even if blooms are past their peak.

    4.       Be prepared to pay additional fees. If the flowers are beyond their peak replacement petals might need to be purchased. A late booking fee is also incurred. We must schedule the number of pressers we need. If we haven’t scheduled enough, we must call in extra pressers and this is why the late booking fee is applied.
